The East Cowes Sunday Football League launched its new season last night with a series of thrilling matches in both the Premier League and Division 1. The opening week was brimming with high-scoring games, showcasing the top-notch skills and competitive spirit we can expect this season.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, Zoe's Law got off to a flying start, defeating AC Me Rollin' in a staggering 21-3 victory. Steven Deakin of AC Me Rollin' managed to carve out a silver lining amid the crushing defeat, scoring two goals and securing the title of top scorer for the division in week 1. Win Or Booze enjoyed a decisive 13-6 win over Badder Roma, while Scouting For Goals outplayed McNeil Deal with a comfortable 9-3 triumph. Thanh Vu, playing for Scouting For Goals, was named the most valued player of the week, adding to the excitement of a successful opening round.
DIVISION ONE
Moving to Division 1, Real Madri started their season on a high note, narrowly defeating Khedira Pin Drop in an intense 6-5 match. Palins Preds, however, were left disappointed as Lucozade VI dominated them in a 9-0 victory. Finally, Net Six And Chill recorded an impressive 11-3 win over Muga V4, with Isaac Harvey being the standout player, netting seven goals and consequently becoming the top scorer in Division 1.
As the first week of matches concluded, the anticipation for the coming weeks of the football season has reached a fever pitch. With a strong showing from all teams in both divisions, the East Cowes Sunday Football League promises to deliver an exhilarating season.
