East Cowes Sunday 6 a side news | WEEK 1

The East Cowes Sunday 6-a-side Football League kicked off its new season with a bang last night, featuring exhilarating play from all participating teams across two divisions - Premier League and Division 1.


PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, McNeil Deal dominated the pitch, securing an impressive 6-0 victory over Scouting For Goals. McNeil Deal's striking prowess was on full display, leaving no room for doubt that they are a force to be reckoned with this season. In another high-scoring match, Zoe's Law triumphed over AC Me Rollin', with a staggering 13-2 scoreline. The top scorer in the Premier League was Jamie Collings from AC Me Rollin', who despite his team's loss, managed to net the ball once.


DIVISION ONE

The action was equally impressive in Division 1, with Kelly Smunt securing a 15-6 win over WightFibre A Team. Ruud Awakening also put on a strong performance to overpower Papas Boiz 8-2. San Miguel Almiron and Badder Roma claimed victories against Ain't Got A Scooby and Muga V4, respectively. Trav Pitman of Ruud Awakening emerged as the top scorer in Division 1, successfully netting the ball three times.


The stand-out player from the week, however, was Connor Marriott from Ruud Awakening. Marriott's exceptional skill and commitment on the field earned him the title of the 'Most Valued Player' of the week, a testament to his significant contribution to Ruud Awakening's victory.


As the season progresses, fans and players alike will be eagerly anticipating the twists and turns of this thrilling football competition. The opening week has set the bar high, promising a season filled with exhilarating matches, top-notch performances and memorable moments.
