Fantastic start to the new East Cowes Sunday 6 a side season

EAST COWES SUNDAY 6 A SIDE NEW SEASON

It was great to see all teams in attendance on a wet and windy night for the start of the new season at Queensgate Primary. It has been a massive headache sorting out the two divisions but judging by the results on the opening night it looks like the divide is just about right with every single match competitive which is good to see. Here's a round up of the results:

PREMIER LEAGUE

We have one space to fill in the Prem so Zoe's Law kicked off their title defence with a 5-0 points match win. Into second spot are Real Shide who won a game filled with goals 10-8 against Mataz, Jamie Linington scoring five of them for the home side. The A J Way are better than they think, starting off their Prem campaign with a 6-4 win over Pogba. The Tap are a welcome addition to the top flight but it's a little tougher up there and they went down 6-4 to a good 2X Grinding Champs side. In the other game last season's runners up Scouting For Goals will be contenders again and they opened up with a 3-1 victory against Hoosier Daddys.

DIVISION ONE

It's going to be another competitive season in Div 1. With the stronger sides from the old Div 2 going into the Prem, Khedira and Badder Roma took up their places in a larger Div 1 again this season. Khedira started with a high scoring win 12-8 against Nyash Wanderers, Jarrad Fisher and Josh Aspinall both scoring four times. Badder Roma couldn't get off to a winning start as they went down 5-2 to Robbin Me Koch. We Lose Every Week had a fine win over relegated AC Me Rollin, Luke Bodington with five goals. Muga won a tight game with Le Saux Solid Crew 5-4 while another thriller saw CF Lechero beat Ryde Rabbits 12-9.

Big thank you to Jukesy, Chris and Calum who came in at short notice to ref and to all our players. We have one spot available in the Prem so if you are up for the challenge get your team registered at the link below, Thanks Rich
