ISLE OF WIGHT 6 A SIDE - THURSDAY NIGHT IN RYDE

What a great night of games we had last night in Ryde where our Isle of Wight 6 a side league ticked off week 11 of the season in style. It was a 1st run out for our newest side Team Best Friends and they settled in perfectly but might have wished they weren't facing the energetic Milfclaters first up. The game finished 6 - 7 as Best Friends found their feet in the 2nd half and it's fair to say we have another quality team on our hands in Ryde. Milfclarters then stayed on to play Ryde Rovers in a ridiculously entertaining points match. Pretty sure it ended about 9 - 8 but it's a 5 - 0 in the league table for Ryde Rovers and plenty of fun for all involved. Sat Fesh won 8 - 2 to maintain their lead at the top with MoLeicesters 5 points back in 2nd following their 4 - 2 win over Roverners. We are welcoming another new side to the league next week so the premier league will have a full line up of league games. Details of the new side will come out in a separate post.

The top two in Division One both picked up 2 points with good wins. Goldies all but confirming their return to the top division with an 8 - 4 win over Khedira while Kirbs regained their form with a 9 - 5 score against The Mighty View and will definitely go up but who takes the title is yet to be decided. Royal Mail Drid won 4 - 2 against Grand Theft Porto and Chamakh won the battle of the longest serving teams match as they overcame Vectis Rovers 9 - 6.

Great to see so many people enjoying their football last night, there was a really positive vibe with all games played in the right spirit, amazing to see.

Well done to both our refs Nick and Pete and thanks to all the captains for organising their teams.
