Ryde 6 a side season reaches half way point

The weeks fly by and we are suddenly at the halfway point in our Thursday night 6 a side league in at Ryde Academy. This was week 2 of the new rules and it seems like all the teams have adjusted pretty well. League leaders Ryde Rovers continued with their unbeaten season as they got the better of Crouch Potato 9 - 5, Ash Smith and Ellis Lomas both with hattricks to take them to 14 points. Level with them and just 2 goals behind are East Ryde Massive and it looks as though this 2 horse race could go all the way to the last few weeks when the top two face off twice in 3 weeks. For now they both just keep winning and for East Ryde Massive it was business as usual with an 8 - 4 win over Sat Fesh. Harrison Taylor continuing to be a bit of a goal machine netting 7 of the team 8 goals. Brad Austin bagged a hattrick for Sat Fesh but they leave empty handed and remain 3rd. Roverners had a great night against Vectis Rovers, Terry Crow scoring 6 and Elliot Lee 4 in their 13 - 4 win. Finally we saw Netsix & Chill continue to improve and they seem to have found the new rules to their liking as for the 2nd week running they racked up the goals. This week it was Ashton Villa on the wrong end their goal scoring ability with the game finishing 13 - 1 to Netsix.

Division One looks pretty competitive at the half way point with a number of teams evenly matched in the middle of the table. Scouting for Goals lead and remain unbeaten after a 3 - 1 win against Khedira, Ryan Phillips on target with a couple while 2nd placed Butlins Bandits stayed in touch at the top with an 11 - 6 win over Chamakh. Aaron Doncaster netting 5 and Dean White 3 while Thomas Miller bagged a hattrick for Chamakh. The Goonies made it 2 wins in a row as they got the better of Getting on a Bit 8 - 5 and Venom City have also hit some form with back to back wins, getting past Interurnan 9 - 5 thanks to 5 goals from Dan White, Keaton Clinton on target with 4 for Inter but it's consecutive defeats for them to wrap up the half way report.

Big thanks to Calum for stepping in to cover me and Nick this week, hopefully be back to the usual squad next week so make sure your teams are ready.

Have a good week guys
