Ryde Thursday Football League returns with a Thrilling Week 3 of Matches

The Ryde Thursday Football League got going again after some venue upgrades and we were straight back to it with another action-packed evening of matches as teams from across the island battled it out in the third week of the season. The Ryde league, witnessed some exhilarating performances and remarkable goal-scoring displays in both the Premier League & Division One.

In the Premier League division, Grays United faced a tough challenge against Goldies, and put up a brave fight but ultimately succumbed to a 13 - 4 defeat. Elsewhere, Brad Austin from Sat Fesh FC stole the limelight in his match, netting an impressive haul of four goals and helping his team secure a comprehensive 10 - 2 victory over MoLeicesters to keep his teams title defence on track. Meanwhile, El Doter and Ryde Rovers FC showcased in a brilliant game with Ryde Rovers just edging out their opponent in an end to end game that finished 8 - 7. KIRBS RETURN also emerged victorious and stay top of the league, defeating Puyol Pants 9 - 6 in another gripping game

In Division 1, Khedira Pin Drop III showcased their impressive form, recording a convincing 7 - 2 win against Ayew Shaw Bro. Hardly Athletic put on an impressive display, notching up six goals to defeat Roverners 6 - 3, thanks in part to Kyle Follows' excellent hat-trick. The Mighty View dominated their opponents, Expected Toulouse, with a resounding 12 - 2 victory, while Chamakh My Pitch Up edged out Vectis Rovers by a narrow margin of 9 - 8, what a game this was, these two teams rarely disappoint when they go head to head on a Thursday night

With these results, the league table is starting to take shape, and the teams are gearing up for the upcoming matches. We can look forward to more thrilling encounters and outstanding performances in the weeks to come.

The Ryde Thursday Football League continues to highlight the passion and skill of local footballers, providing an exciting platform for teams to showcase their talent. The league is not only a testament to the island's love for the beautiful game but also a celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie among players. The whole night was played out in great spirit and was brilliantly controlled by our refs Pete and Steve who made his Leisure Leagues debut on a whistle and had a great night.
