RYDE THURSDAY 6 A SIDE - ISLE OF WIGHT LEAGUE

Our brilliant Thursday night 6 a side league in Ryde gave us some amazing matches last night as the season rolled onto week two. It was great to welcome Puyol Pants Down to the fold, a reformed side from former champions Netsix and Chill and they opened their account with a strong 15 - 3 win over Goldies. Current champions Sat Fesh got the better of old rivals Guns n Moses in an intense match that 2 goals from Val Isaac settled 4 - 2. Roverners added to their 2 points from last week with another win against Kirbs Return with Rob Jackson continuing his fine form from last season with 4 in their 8 - 2 win. Finally in the top flight we saw one of the great games played at Ryde. Unathletico Madrid Vs Ryde Galacticos was an absolute classic of end to end 6 a side. Never more than a few goals in it either way the half time score of 4 - 4 became 8 - 8 and finally ended 13 - 12 to Galacticos. Well played to both teams for an amazing game with 25 goals and the whole game played in the right spirit. A credit to the league and a pleasure to witness.

Into division one where we had 4 more quality matches. Vectis Rovers took a good win from their game with Royal Mail-Drid to open their account for the season, 7 - 2 the score in a very open game. Khedira played some good football with Harry Scott putting in another MotM performance netting 3 goals in their 7 - 4 win against Grand Theft Auto while Butlins Bandits made it two wins from two as they won well against Hants FC. Josh Aspinall and Aaron Doncaster bagging a hattrick each in the 9 - 2 win. Milfclarters had 3 from Flynn Jackman and 2 from Jack McCallum to thank for their 2nd win as they played some good energetic football to get the better of Chamakh 8 - 2.

It was good to hand over last seasons trophies to our winners, pics and videos from the night will go on the FB page so well done to the winners. Thanks to Pete and Mick for their efforts on the whistles and to the players for another entertaining night at Ryde.

Roll on next Thursday and week 3 of our season.
