The excitement was palpable in yesterday’s Ryde Thursday 6-a-side football league matches, as teams from the Premier League and Division 1 took to the field. Now in the eighth week of the season, the competition was fierce with all teams battling it out for top spot.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, Ivory Toast stamped their authority with a decisive 4-2 victory over Doter Returns. The win adds to an already impressive season for Ivory Toast.
DIVISION ONE
Division 1 witnessed some thrilling matches as well. 99 Problems But A Pitch Ain't One and Vectis Rovers played out a 5-5 draw in a pulsating encounter, where both teams refused to yield. The high-octane match featured a sensational performance by Harry Calvert, who scored a hat trick for 99 Problems, putting him at the top of Division 1's scorer list.
Youth Offending Team edged past Khedira Pin Drop III in a close encounter, with the final score reading 3-2 in their favour. Meanwhile, Double Pogba And Koke squeezed out a victory against Diabetico Madrid, winning by a narrow margin of 5-4.
The standout player of the week was Riley Farrell from Youth Offending Team, whose performance was nothing short of remarkable earning him the title of Most Valued Player.
As we approach the final two weeks of the season, the adrenaline is set to spike even higher. Teams are now gearing up to secure their place for the next season, bringing their A-game to each match.
