Ryde Thursday 6 a side - WEEK 2 ROUND UP

In a thrilling display of grit and skill, the second week of the Ryde Thursday Premier League saw some exceptional action. Our teams all returned to the pitch, and were joined by a new young side making their 1st appearance in the league. All our teams showcased their talent and perseverance in this most prestigious of IOE 6-a side football leagues.

Chamakh My Pitch Up opened the night when they squared off against Khedira Pin Drop III. They played well resulting in a 4-2 victory and despite their best efforts, Khedira couldn't match the pace and strategy of their opponents, succumbing to a well-earned win for Chamakh.

In another high-scoring game, Cereal Wimmers FC stood their ground against Manchester Obe City, ending the game with a triumphant 6-3 win. Jack Dyer bagged 3 goals for the Wimmers who find themselves 2nd in the table. The match saw an exhilarating display of sportsmanship and strategic play from both sides.

However, the match that stole the spotlight was between Crown FC and debutants Youth Offending Team. Crown FC, demonstrated a masterclass in attack in the 2nd half to inflict a comfortable defeat on  Youth Offending Team who had more than held their own in the 1st half. The final score was 13-3 with Sam Higgin names as man of the match for his fine hat trick.

Not far behind was the nail-biting face-off between Hardly Athletic and Puyol Pants Down, culminating in a narrow victory for Puyol Pants Down with a 4-3 finish. Hardly Athletic will need to bounce back quickly next week if they want to maintain their title retention charge. Vectis Rovers are still searching for their 1st points of the campaign having faced a tough defeat against the ever competitive Roverners. The game ended 11-2 in favour of Roverners with Jackson brothers Rob and Matt both scoring 3 goals for their team.

The standout player in the Premier League this week was Sam Higgin from Crown FC, who claimed the title of top scorer this week with an 3 goals. Sam's performance was instrumental in Crown FC's important win, and he certainly set the bar high for the upcoming weeks.

The Ryde Thursday Premier League continues to serve as a thrilling platform for these teams, each bringing their unique strategies and passion to the forefront. As we look forward to next week, there's no doubt about more exciting competition and riveting performances.
