NEW SEASON UNDERWAY IN SANDOWN

We are back underway in one of the Isle of Wights top 6 a side leagues as our 12 Monday night teams returned from Easter with the excitement of a brand new season to get stuck into. 

League champions JJFC faced a spirited Two Girls side and were made to work hard for their 1st points of their title defence. It was a high scoring affair with JJFC just edging it 10 - 9 thanks to hat-tricks from Jordy Cook, Jared Jones and Matt Oatley. Josh Paine also bagged a hat-trick for Two Girls who will be encouraged by their start to life in the prem. It was a lot tougher for Div One Champions Norfolk in Chance who faces a strong No More Cap side in their 1st game. Cory Sanderson amongst the goals with 3 for The Caps who fly to the top of the table with a convincing 11 - 1 win. Jehov also made an impressive start to the season with a 6 - 2 win over The Six Offenders, Bailey Miller netting 3 put inflict a rare defeat on last seasons runners up. 

There were plenty of goals in Division One too as the rebranded Guns n Moses side, Digestive Robnobs filled their boots against an understrength Sandown Cliffs while Hayleys Comets made a great start with an 11 - 4 score thanks to 5 goals from Harvey Knight and 3 from Brad Burnett. J Bashers got past Eye of the Tiger to start with a 7 - 4 win to round up an opening night of the season that saw just shy of 100 goals across the 6 games. Hopefully the start of another action packed season.

Thanks to everyone for being there, especially Jukesy and his refs Chris and Andy. Can't wait for week two next week before we head into another bank holiday break. 

We are looking to kick off a new division here in Sandown really soon, we already have a few teams ready to feature in it, we just need a couple more so if you are looking at the end of the 11 a aside season and wanting to get involved in some Monday night 6 a side games, now is a great time to register your team and get involved in our Sandown league.
