Sandown Monday 6 a side - NEW SEASON UNDERWAY

The Sandown Monday Football League kicked off its new season with an exhilarating set of matches that left spectators at the edge of their seats. This week marked the beginning of the season and the competition was fierce in the Premier League and Division 1.

In the Premier League division, Unreal Madrid II took the victory against Pukki Blinders in a thrilling 7-6 match, proving that every minute counts in football. Sat Fesh FC showcased their offensive prowess by defeating No More Cap FC with a significant 11-2 score. However, the highlight of the evening was JJ FC who managed to outscore The Bees Knees 11-4, securing a solid start for their season.

Division 1 also provided its share of excitement. Epsteins Islanders narrowly edged out Westys Wanderers 3-2, while Hayleys Comets claimed a similar victory over The Stag. The most balanced match of the division, however, was between Simply Sixtoes and SGN FC, which ended in a 6-6 draw.

The week’s most valued player was Rich Robert from Simply Sixtoes. Despite his team ending their match in a draw, his outstanding performance did not go unnoticed.

As for top scorers, Rick Murthwaite of Eye of the Tiger led the Premier League division with a total of 3 goals. In Division 1, Dale Nash from The Stag emerged as the top scorer with 2 goals.

The season has just begun, and if the first week is any indication, we can expect a thrilling ride ahead. The teams, the players, and the scores have set the tone for what promises to be a season filled with intense competition and exceptional football.
