GAZZ FC CHAMPIONS OF SALISBURY
In the thrilling culmination of the Salisbury Monday 6-a-side Football League, the final results for the Premier League division are in after an intense week 7 of our short and sharp season at Sarum Academy.
GAZZ FC, led by the week's most valued player, Tom Parsons, reigned supreme in the Premier League division. Displaying an impressive form throughout the season, GAZZ FC emerged as champions with a total of 6 wins and 12 points in their kitty, but required a bucket load of goals on the final night to pip Snow Bunnies to the silverware on goal difference.
The team's final match against Soapy Fun Time FC was nothing short of a spectacle, the scoreboard displaying a staggering 22-1 in favour of GAZZ FC. It was an avalanche of goals as GAZZ did what they needed to do to secure the league win. Poor old Soapy Fun Time had no answers and will hope for more competitive games with the 2 divisional split planned for the new campaign.
The other teams gave it their all as well. Ice Hockey FC displayed commendable performance, triumphing over Petra FC with a score of 4-2. Barely Athletic also clinched a victory, dominating Backyard UTD with a 4-0 scoreline. However, the Pumbappes Snow Bunnies left a strong impact with their landslide 8-0 victory against Pique Blinders. It wasn't enough to cling onto the title but they will have some consolation in knowing that their striker Seb Osmond has rounded off the season as top scorer for the league and claims the golden boot for his efforts in netting 16 goals through the season.
As the final week of the season concludes, the Premier League division witnessed a display of high-quality football, filled with thrilling victories, striking goals, and unforgettable performances. The winners of this season have indeed set a high bar for the upcoming ones. Congratulations to GAZZ FC and all the players for their incredible performances throughout the season!
