NEW SEASON STARTS in Salisbury Monday 6 a side

The brilliant Salisbury Monday 6-a-side football league kicked off its first week of the brand new, expanded season with competitive matches across the Premier League and Division 1 as we return to the two divisional set up and welcome 4 new teams to the fold. Players were brimming with anticipation and the opening games did not disappoint.

In the Premier League, GAZZ FC took an early lead in the standings by overcoming The Goofy Slugs in a tight game that ended with a final score of 2-1. The victory was largely credited to Liam Greenough, who netted both goals to top the scoring chart for the week. Meanwhile, Pumbappes Snow Bunnies and Ice Hockey FC had to share points after their match ended in a compelling 1-1 draw. Pique Blinders could not stand the pressure against Lavvy 6s, succumbing to a 1-5 defeat against one of the league new teams.

Moving to Division 1, Winless FC edged past Backyard UTD in a closely fought 3-2 victory. George Beckwith was instrumental in the win, scoring a crucial goal and emerging as the leading scorer for the division. In another face-off, Petra FC and Barely Athletic battled it out to a very rare  0-0 draw that gets both teams seasons up and running. The match between Murder On Zidanes Floor and SCS All Stars also ended in a stalemate with a 2-2 score line to show what a competitive and evenly matched division this looks like being.

The opening week of the Salisbury Monday league has certainly set the tone for an exhilarating season. With brilliantly close across both divisions, we can look forward to more action-packed matches in the coming weeks.

We are keen to grow the league further and its definitely the best place to play 6 a side in Salisbury so why not join our wave of new teams by signing up and being part of the action.
