Football fans around Salisbury were on the edge of their seats as the Salisbury Monday 6-a-side Football league entered its second week, yielding a series of nail-biting matches across the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, Elite FC secured a narrow victory over Balatasaray 6s with a 3-2 scoreline, while Lavvy 6s scraped a 1-0 win against Sam N Kids. Salisbury Scrotums and Net Six And Chill ended in a 2-2 draw, a testament to the high level of competition in the league.
DIVISION ONE
Division 1 witnessed some intense battles as No Pace Just Grace triumphed over Pathetico Madrid with a 5-4 scoreline, and Ball Busters defeated 50 Shades O Shea 3-1. The Goofy Slugs produced an 8-1 victory against Winless FC, while Python6s beat Barely Athletic 4-1. The standout player was Kylan Noonan of The Goofy Slugs who netted 4 goals in total, making him the top scorer in Division 1.
DIVISION TWO
Meanwhile, in Division 2, a thrilling 5-5 draw between Boys In Black and Lads And Dads set the tone. Boscombe On Me earned a 3-0 win over Gateway FC, RIP On FC narrowly beat Dad Bods 3-2, while Queens Park Strangers edged out Team 1 2-1. Nathan Targett from Boys in Black distinguished himself as the top scorer with 3 goals.
The highlight of this week's league was undoubtedly the performance of Jake Boston from No Pace Just Grace. His exceptional skill on the field and valuable contribution to his team's victory earned him the title of the most valued player for the week.
Salisbury's Monday 6-a-side Football league continues to provide a thrilling spectacle for us all. The teams are already gearing up for the next round of matches, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store.
