Salisbury Monday 6 a side SEASON FINALE

Play in the Salisbury Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

Last night saw the finale of our amazing 1st season of 6 a side in Salisbury and Sarum Academy was a buzz with excitement as the top teams battled away to try and secure the acclaimed premier league trophy.

Heading into match night 11 it was all square on points at the top with Gazz FC the hot favourites to take the title as they held a far superior goal advantage over 2nd placed Romanian Boys. But the boys in yellow weren't ready to give up and their fixture against bottom side NHS Heros left them with an outside chance of clawing back the goal difference and grabbing the trophy.

Gazz did all they could with a solid 4 - 1 win over Hotspire but it was not enough as Vas Burloiu pulled well clear in the golden boot race as he netted 14 in his teams 35 - 0 demolition of their opponents. There were great scenes of celebration at the final whistle as the team that scored the 1st ever goal in Salisbury Leisure Leagues back in March completed the come back and confirmed themselves as the inaugural champions of Salisbury.

In another thrilling encounter, Bendtner Over emerged victorious with a 4 - 2 win against Barely Athletic. The goal-scoring prowess of Bendtner Over proved too much for their opponents to handle, securing them a well-deserved victory. Meanwhile, Weeno Wanderers triumphed over Gangsters Allardyce with a commanding 6 - 3 scoreline, displaying their attacking flair and confirming a respectable 4th place in the final table.

Another impactful performance came from Beme Vets, who outplayed Pique Blinders with a remarkable 9 - 3 triumph. Their coordinated teamwork and clinical finishing ensured a convincing win.

The Salisbury Monday 6-a-side Football League has proved to be a thrilling journey of talent, skill, and determination from start to finish and we thank all the players for their commitment to our 1st season.

It's also a massive thank you to Geoff, Tony and Chester for their brilliant work as match officials this season, our leagues are only as good as they are because of the staff we have at our venues and we are very lucky to have found such professional referees to look after the Salisbury league.

The teams have already been informed but our new campaign kicks off next week with most of our sides committed to the season already. We will be splitting into two divisions now giving more competitive games for everyone and we hope to bring in a couple of new teams to help expand on the great start we have made at Sarum Academy.
