Monday 2nd October - Worcester Round-Up

It was an excellent second week of the campaign in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches across the three divisions, the only exception being a late cancellation from Inside England V2 who return to action on Monday 9th October.

In the Premier League, Athletico Pathetico suffered a 2 - 0 defeat at the hands of Daddy Ben in a game dominated by the latter's defensive prowess. Phoenix managed to edge out Class On Artificial Grass 4 - 3 in a nail-biting encounter. Pepe Pig secured a 1 - 0 victory over Clash Of Dudes, a positive result on their second game in the league giving them something to build on as they get used to the league. However, the most exciting match of the night was between What Team Name and Texas Oldham, with What Team Name taking home the victory in an eight goal thriller in which they triumphed by 5 goals to 3.

In Division 1, Châteauneuf-du-Pape clinched a close 4 - 3 victory against Inter Ya Nan, while Salty Sea-Men outlasted Full Kit Yankers 2 - 1 in a tense face-off. However, the standout performance of the night was the 4 - 0 triumph of Sporting Abeergut over Woodgreen FC, showcasing their outstanding attacking play.

Division 2 saw some of the biggest scorelines of the night with CWLC FC decimating Backstreet Moyes 7 - 0, and Crouch Potato putting 7 past Indra, in a spectacular 7 - 2 win. Chunk And The 7 Dwarves pulled off a 4 - 2 victory over Monner Athletic, while Cats On Bikes edged out Unathletico Madrid 4 - 3 in a closely contested game, as they joined us from the Wednesday league this week.
