Monday 4th April - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, and some entertaining matches played across all three divisions.

There were some massive score lines in the Premier Division as the  top of the table tightens up, with three teams now separated by just one point after this weeks action.  Tics on Toure become the outright leaders after thrashing Crouch Potato 11-2, whilst Shamgwop boosted an already healthy goal difference as they thrashed Gateshead United 12-1, moving them into second and above Phoenix who drop to third after an entertaining 4-4 draw with Chateuneuf Du Pape who surprised a few with that result, picking up their first point of the campaign.  Woodgreen FC moved clear of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Route One Rovers.

Rodallega Bombs continue to lead the way in Division One, this week thrashing third placed Goals Aloud 5-1 to dent their promotion hopes.  The leaders need to keep winning as they are hounded by second place Greyhound FC who were 2-1 winners over Who Ate All Depays, coming back from a goal down with two last minute goals to seal a vital win!  ABCDE FC moved into fourth position after romping to a 12-1 win over Bendtner Over to give themselves a sniff of the promotion places.

General Sports Enthusiasts maintain their perfect record, but it was touch and go this week as they nicked a 1-0 win over a resolute Plunger & Superglue.  Third placed Rybrook Raiders stay a point off the team above them as it looks like a three horse race for promotion, they were 6-1 victors over Balt-J FC, whilst Nomers recent resurgence stretched into a third consecutive win as they thrashed Malvern Massive 9-1.

Good luck to all teams going into the next round of fixtures with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
