Leisure Leagues Worcester Monday 6-a-side League - Match Round-up (5th June)

The final game week of the current season in the Leisure Leagues Worcester Monday 6-a-side League was nothing short of spectacular. The teams came out in full force, with an impressive turnout for most of the matches. While a few unfortunate cancellations occurred, the majority of the teams were eager to showcase their skills one last time.

As the season came to a thrilling close, it's time to congratulate the league champions in their respective divisions. Châteauneuf-du-Pape secured the Premier Division title with a narrow victory, completing their campaign in style. Pickle Pinchers claimed the Division One championship, although their unbeaten record was halted by a fellow promoted team. Lastly, Daddy Ben emerged as the victorious team in Division Two.

Premier Division:

In a tightly contested match, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the league winners, sealed their triumphant season with a 1-0 victory over Phoenix. The champions showcased their strength and determination, holding off their opponents to secure the narrow win.

Woodgreen FC clashed with the formidable Clash of Dudes, but unfortunately, they fell short as the latter dominated the game. Clash of Dudes exhibited their prowess by netting an impressive five goals, while Woodgreen FC managed to find the back of the net twice.

Sporting Abeergut unleashed their attacking prowess against Meat Batch, resulting in an astounding 8-0 victory. Sporting Abeergut's relentless pursuit of goals showcased their skills and put them in the spotlight.


Division One:

The league winners, Pickle Pinchers, faced a tough challenge in their final game week against fellow promoted team Class on Artificial Grass. In a surprising turn of events, Pickle Pinchers' unbeaten record came to an abrupt halt as Class on Artificial Grass triumphed with a 7-3 scoreline, showcasing their abilities.

Salty Sea-Men and Inter Ya Nan battled it out in a thrilling encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams displayed determination and resilience throughout the match, leaving the spectators on the edge of their seats.

Priest Lane Relics took on Crouch Potato, but unfortunately, they were unable to overcome their opponents' strong defense. Crouch Potato emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline, showcasing their effective gameplay.

Unathletico Madrid faced a daunting challenge against Texas Oldham and unfortunately succumbed to the sheer dominance of their opponents. Texas Oldham ran riot, bagging an astonishing 12 goals, while Unathletico Madrid managed to find the back of the net only once.


Division Two:

The match between Chunk and the 7 Dwarves and Malvern Massive was a closely fought battle, but Malvern Massive emerged victorious with a narrow 2-1 scoreline. Both teams displayed their determination and fought valiantly until the final whistle.

Monner Athletic, already promoted, were taken by surprise when they faced Indra, a team that had struggled throughout the season. Indra defied the odds and delivered a stunning performance, securing an impressive 5-2 victory over Monner Athletic.
