Monday 7th March - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league this week, which saw all 24 teams in attendance for their scheduled games across the three divisions.

Phoenix significantly boosted their goal difference this week to ensure they lead the way in the Premier Division by a good margin, despite being level on points with Tics on Toure.  It was a perfect ten for Phoenix who hit 10 without reply in their game against Chateuneuf Du Pape, whilst second placed Tics on Toure won an 11 goal thriller against Crouch Potato by a 6-5 scoreline.  Gateshead United have had a great start since joining the league, they have gone straight into the top league and won their third game in four this week, as they were 5-3 victors over Shamgwop Rovers.  Route One Rovers moved into fourth place as they went three unbeaten this week with a 7-3 victory against Woodgreen FC.

Greyhound FC stay top of Division One but dropped points for the first time this campaign as they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Who Ate All Depays.  Goals Aloud could not take advantage of this result to go top, instead they lost ground after losing heavily against Rodallega Bombs, 5-1 the final score as Rodallega now move level on points with second.  ABCDE FC dropped to fourth place as they were narrowly beaten 1-0 against Bendtner Over who move level on points with this weeks opponents.  Inter Ya Nan won the battle of the bottom two teams and got their first points on the board after they thrashed bottom of the table We Lose Evra Week 4-1.

In Division Two, Hayleybeanie'sboys strong start just keeps getting stronger!  They thrashed Gerryhattricks 7-1 this week having now scored an impressive 24 goals in just four matches!  General Sports Enthusiasts are looking just as impressive though, their fourth win on the spin saw them triumph 3-1 over Plunger & Superglue.  Third place Rybrook Raiders stay just behind the top two teams, their third win in four was by 3 goals to 1 against Balt-J FC, whilst Malvern Massive's first win of the season came this week as they edged past Nomers by a 2-1 scoreline.

We are delighted to see the league running so smoothly at the moment and thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment!  We wish everyone good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
