Match Report: Exciting Start to the Worcester Sixways Tuesday 6-a-Side League


The Leisure Leagues Worcester Sixways Tuesday 6-a-side league kicked off its new campaign with a bang on 13th June, as teams took to the pitch with high hopes and determination. With thrilling matches and impressive performances, the opening game week set the stage for an exhilarating season ahead.


In the Premier Division, the Nutty Marauders showed their attacking prowess in a convincing 5-1 victory over Dynamo Kebab. The Marauders displayed their nutty skills, leaving their opponents spinning like a kebab on a rotisserie. Goals flew in from all angles, leaving Dynamo Kebab searching for answers.


In a clash of defensive titans, Purge F.C and Crouch Potatoes battled it out, resulting in a goalless draw. Both teams demonstrated resilience, making it difficult for their opponents to breach their defense. The match resembled a slow-cooked casserole, with neither side willing to give an inch.


Sheffield Tuesday faced a formidable challenge as they took on the five-time reigning champions, All Star Rejects. In a surprising turn of events, the Rejects flew out of the blocks and showed their championship pedigree, ruthlessly putting eight goals past Sheffield Tuesday's net. It was a display of dominance, leaving last season's second-placed team shell-shocked.


Gruppo Select, a newly promoted team, wasted no time making their mark in the Premier Division. With no messing around, they opened their campaign with an emphatic 11-1 victory over Green Army. Gruppo Select showcased their intent and determination to compete at the highest level, leaving their opponents green with envy.


Moving on to Division One, RB Old Boys faced a tough challenge against BDS FC, the Division Two champions. BDS FC showed their ambition and quality by securing a 5-2 victory, marking their arrival in Division One with a bang. The Old Boys put up a spirited fight, but BDS FC's class prevailed.


Snorting Lisbon and Athletico locked horns in a thrilling encounter. Despite being a debut team, Athletico displayed promising signs for the future, but it was Snorting Lisbon who emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. The match was filled with excitement and end-to-end action, providing a glimpse of the competitiveness in Division One.


I Heung My Son, the new boys on the block, put in a respectable debut performance against Haywood Jablowme. With solid teamwork and determination, Haywood Jablowme secured a 2-0 victory over the new boys however, but Heung My Son will provide future opponents with food for thought as they showed to be quite solid on only their first game.


Joel Touchmatip and BOI F.C clashed in a goal-fest encounter that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. In the end, Joel Touchmatip emerged as the dominant force, securing a 6-2 victory. Their attacking prowess and clinical finishing left BOI F.C chasing shadows throughout the match.


In Division Two, Warndon Heath got off to a flying start with a 2-0 triumph over Busty Badgers. Their organized defense and clinical finishing proved too much for the Badgers to handle. Warndon Heath set the tone for their campaign, leaving their opponents searching for answers.


TeamBlue FC and Centurions FC engaged in a closely contested battle that swung in favor of Centurions FC. With a narrow 3-2 victory, Centurions FC demonstrated their fighting spirit and determination to secure all three points. The match was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.


Only Fools and Scousers faced an uphill battle against Exeter Slowly. Despite their best efforts, Only Fools and Scousers fell short, succumbing to a 4-1 defeat. Exeter Slowly's methodical approach and precise execution proved too much to handle for their opponents.
