Tuesday 20th September - Worcester Round-Up

An excellent evening's football in the Worcester Tuesday 6 a side league this week once again, with all 24 teams in attendance across all three divisions as scheduled.

After completing their two week withdrawal notice, Haywood Jablowme have now left the league due to University commitments.  We thank them for their time in the league and hope to see them back in future.  We welcome new team Bendtner Over into the league as their replacement and wish these good luck on Tuesday 27th September.

Premier Division champions Allstar Rejects made it 8 not out this week as their 100% record continued another week, with them looking to retain their title for another season.  Credit to Purge FC though who gave the leaders a great game, eventually Rejects ran out 4-3 winners.  Gruppo Select stay in second place but four points off the team above them as the two meet next week, they were 3-1 winners against Murder on Zidane's Floor to give themselves a chance of going within 2 points of top next week with the right result.  Elsewhere fourth placed Dynamo Kebab were beaten 2-1 by AFC Airtek this week who collected their first win since joining the league, whilst Boi FC were rampant in front of goal as they thrashed Wizards of Woo by 6 goals to nil.

Division One leaders Green Army's perfect first half of the season came to an abrupt end this week as they were beaten 7-3 by mid-table Nutty Marauders, allowing second placed Crouch Potatoes to reduce the arrears slightly to four points as they were 3-1 victors over RB Old Boys, whilst third placed Cesc Pistols won by the same scoreline against Centurions to sit behind the team above them on goal difference alone.  Out on Bail and Busty Badgers played out a 10 goal thriller to complete the division's action, Bail running out eventual 6-4 winners.

The top two met in Division Two this week with both level on points going into the game, although second placed team have now withdrawn as mentioned above, nevertheless Sheffield Tuesday will be happy with their 2-1 win to give them a 2 point cushion at the top.  Third placed Warndon Heath missed the chance to go within a point of second as they shared a 1-1 draw with Asbo FC meaning they'll have to settle for 2 points behind.  The other two games of the division were goal fests, both coming out with 12 goals in each game, as Notinyourmoms Forest ran out 9-3 winners over Inter ya Nan and Bud Sweat and Beers were 7-5 victors against Unreal Madrid.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league and wish all good luck going into game week 9 with Worcester's premier and biggest small sided football providers!
