Wednesday 17th January - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week, which saw all 32 teams in attendance for game week 1 of the new season across the four divisions, and some excellent matches played!

In the Premier League, Worcester Saints made an emphatic statement with a dominant 4-0 victory over Gangsters Allardyce. The Saints' performance was matched only by Hot Steppas who also cruised to a 4-0 victory against UP THE ALMA. Lucozade Sports, on the other hand, turned the heat up even further, scoring a remarkable six goals against CottageMixedGrill FC.

Division 1 saw the highest scoring match of the night, with Leavemyarsealona losing 4-8 to Wednesday Social in a goal-fest. Meanwhile, Enter Team Name FC and Nag Shuts FC both started their seasons with clean sheets, winning 2-0 against Skylas Best Friends List and Tupsley FCC respectively.

Over in Division 2, the contest between Misfits FC and Perdiswell Lynx ended in a thrilling 5-5 draw. The other matches in this division were closely fought as well, with just a single goal separating the teams.

The biggest victory of the night came in Division 3, where Unathlectico Madrid put eight past Severn Wasters without conceding a goal. This division also saw Bench Warmers FC start their season in style, thumping STUDS ON STUDS 7-1.

As the season has just begun, all teams will be looking to build momentum and establish their dominance in their respective divisions.   We wish all teams good luck as we go into game week 2 of the season next week with Worcester's exclusive small sided football providers.
