Wednesday 1st February - Worcester Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night as scheduled.

The main talking point of the evening sees confirmation that Real Perry's have been removed from the league with immediate effect.  This follows their abusive and extremely threatening conduct towards our match officials which will not be tolerated in any way.

On a positive note, we welcome new team Bley You Off The Park to the league as their replacement and we wish these good luck going into their first fixture on Wednesday 8th February.

Moving to matters on the field, Small Pond made it 9 wins on the bounce for the campaign as they remain fully focussed on claiming back to back titles, and winning on their first season since promotion, a 3-1 win was necessary to keep this lead intact though as second placed Chicken Ball FC remain two points off the summit as they were 2-0 winners against Dales Sixes, they keep the pressure on the leaders ahead of what could be a title decider set for 22nd February.

Other action in the top flight saw third placed Coral FC run out 3-1 winners on struggling Murder on Zidane's Floor, whilst Sporting a Beergut were comfortable 6-1 winners over second bottom Up The Alma.

Expecting Toulouse went to the top of Division One after they were 5-0 winners due to the above mentioned match abandonment, leapfrogging Claines FC who were beaten 1-0 by Lads on Toure.  An in form New Inn FC moved themselves into third spot this week after a 4-2 victory against Werder Beermen, whilst Paris Ganjaman moved out of the drop zone with a 6-1 win over ITL United.

Brap FC stay top of the pile in Division Two and knocked Gotta Die For 3 Pints out of the top two as they shared a 3-3 draw this week, allowing Enter Team Name to move up to second place with a well earned 8-4 win over fourth placed West Ham Sandwich, who may now be struggling to gain promotion this time round.  Sporting Bad Haircuts were 5-1 winners over Jew-ventus in the bottom half matchup, whilst new boys Nag Shuts made it 2 wins on the spin since joining as they were 2-0 victors over Ruud Van Nipplejoy.

We wish all teams good luck going into game week 10 with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football, and as ever thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability.
