Wednesday 1st March - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled across all four divisions.

Chicken Ball sealed the title this week with a game to spare as their 4-1 win over Coral FC, coupled with second placed Small Pond's 4-4 draw against Fatletico Madrid gives them an unassailable three point lead with only one game to play.  Congratulations to them on their second consecutive top division title.  A 3-0 win for Wednesday Social secured their place in the Premier Division for another season as the result between the two below them went as they would've wanted, with bottom team Murder on Zidane's Floor running out 3-2 winners over Up The Alma meaning neither can now survive the drop.

It is unbelievably tight at the top of Division One, as FOUR teams could still be promoted on the final game of the season!  The current top two could miss out altogether with the way the fixtures are scheduled!  As it is, Expecting Toulouse went top of the pile after leapfrogging rivals Claines FC by 2 goals to 1.  New Inn got right back amongst the shakeup as they were rampant 8-1 winners over Paris Ganjaman, whilst Lads on Toure dropped to fourth after falling to a 4-2 defeat against Werder Beermen.  At the other end of the table any one of three could still go down in the second relegation place, Bley You Off The Park climbed out of the drop zone this week with a 6-1 thrashing of Exeter Gently.

Division Two leaders Brap FC may have already sealed the title, but they still have a huge part to play in the battle for second, this week they were 4-1 winners over Enter Team Name FC who now drop to third with a combination of this result and 3 Pints claiming a 4-3 victory over Sporting!  Other action saw West Ham Sandwich claim a solid 3-0 win against Ruud Van Nipplejoy, whilst Nag Shuts claimed their fourth win in six by beating Bifta Lifta 4-1.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment towards the league which keeps the league running on time and smoothly each week too.  As ever, if you have any queries regarding the league, you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.

We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
