Wednesday 22nd June - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance barring Stud FC who gave 7 days notice and return on Wednesday 29th June, and a late cancellation from Cheeky Naldos who also return next week.

There was a big result at the top of the Premier Division, with El Nino FC beating Priestlane Wanderers by a 4-1 scoreline, a result which dropped the latter to third place, and sees the leaders extend the gap to second by 2 points.  Sporting a Beergut now occupy second place after a 3-3 draw with Ayew Gueye.  The mid-table clash between Pershite and FC Marshelona ended all square as the two shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.  Elsewhere Wednesday Social moved out of the drop zone on goal difference after a comprehensive 6-0 win over Kebab Shop Boys.

Division One leaders The Charvas were held to a draw this week by third place Coral FC, the game ended 3 a piece, their lead at the top reduces to three points as second placed Expecting Toulouse were 4-0 winners over Paris Ganja Man.  Fourth placed Bishy FC suffered a surprise defeat as they were beaten 7-1 by bottom side Probably Hungover who moved up to seventh with that result.  Lads on Toure dropped to bottom of the table despite picking up a 4-4 draw against Get Your Klopp Out in an end to end game.

Division Two saw leaders Small Pond get a 5-0 win this week in the absence of Cheeky Naldos .  2 Girls 1 Schlupp and Dixie Normous remain on the tail of the leaders, and both were winners again this week.  2 Girls who sit second on goal difference were 3-1 winners over Pique Blinders, and Dixie Normous claimed a convincing 5-0 win over Make 6 a Side Great Again.

The battle of the top two was surprisingly a non contest in Division Three as leaders Chicken Ball FC put Vlads Lads to the sword by 9 goals to 2, extending their lead to four points.  Murder on Zidane's Floor's recent improvement continues as the third placed team beat I Predict a Diet by 4 goals to 2, moving within two points of second place.  MEC Cartel sit in fourth place after a 3-1 win over Unathletico to complete the evening's action.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment and look forward to seeing all in attendance for game week 9 with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
