Wednesday 24th April - Worcester Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall as the new season kicked off in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week.  We were however disappointed to see a non-attendance from 6Lads1Cup despite confirming their place for the new season.  As a result they have now been removed from the league.

We welcome new team 'Notinyamoms Forest' to the league as a replacement for the above, and wish these good luck going into their debut game on Wednesday 1st May.

In the Premier League, Nunnery Wood Veterans started the season with a bang, securing a decisive 6-1 victory over Lucozade Sports. Worcester Saints put on an impressive display, clinching a 5-3 win against Gangsters Allardyce. Other matchups saw Coral FC defeating Wednesday Social 4-1 and Mia KhaFifa holding UP THE ALMA to a 3-0 shutout.

Division 1 saw some high-scoring games with Ice Ice Babies delivering an 11-0 thrashing to Rauol Madrid, arguably the standout performance of the night. Paris Ganja Man overcame Enter Team Name FC 5-3, and Injured FC dispatched Claines FC 5-2.

In Division 2, Murder On ZIdanes Floor and Sporting Bad Haircuts both secured 4-2 victories over Skylas Best Friends List and Tupsley FCC respectively. Expecting Toulouse and Tolly Bashers claimed tight 2-0 and 2-1 wins over Monner United and Boca Seniors.

Division 3 saw Unathlectico Madrid pull off a 7-0 drubbing of Severn Wasters. The Cherry Charvas overcame Chewbacca The Net 6-3, while Bench Warmers FC secured a 5-1 win over STUDS ON STUDS. Bley You Off The Park and Perdiswell Lynx ended in a 2-2 draw.

As the season has just begun, there's plenty of football left to play and it will be interesting to see how the league tables shape up in the coming weeks. Good luck to all teams going into game week 2 of the season with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
