Wednesday 26th October - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled including new teams Warndon Warriors, Expecting To Win and Wednesday Social B Team who played their first matches with us!

Chicken Ball lost ground on league leaders FC Marshelona this week as they were beaten heavily by Sporting a Beergut who moved into third place with a 5-1 win over the youngsters.  The leaders wasted no time in extending their lead to three points after a 4-1 win over Wednesday Social.

In Division One, Small Pond are officially promoted after a fantastic campaign, and with three games to spare, as their tenth win in 11 was a 6-0 humbling of Wednesday Social B Team.  Second placed Dales Sixes had a bad week as they were beaten 2-1 by Lads on Toure, whilst third placed Coral FC claimed a 3-2 win over New Inn FC to move within a point of the promotion places!  Paris Ganja Man moved up a place to fourth with a well earned 4-3 win over Brap in an end to end encounter.  

Division Two leaders Sin Sinners shared the spoils with new boys Warndon Warriors in a game that ended 2-2, whilst Up The Alma climbed up a place to second with a 4-1 win over Enter Team Name FC.  Keith Irvine United were big winners of the night as they moved a step closer to safety in style, thrashing Claines FC 8-1.  

Division Three top side Lapwing FC confirmed they will be playing in the league above next season as, much like Division One leaders Small Pond they racked up a tenth win in eleven, running out 4-2 winners over Kebab Shop Boys.  In the battle for second, Gotta Die for 3 Pints moved two points clear of third placed I Predict a Diet after beating their rivals 2-0.  Jewventus and Handover 96 Pies completed the evening's action as they played out a 2-2 draw.
