Wednesday 27th September - Worcester Round-Up

It was a good end to the season in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league at Sixways this week, as the final games of the campaign were played in style in all four divisions!

In the Premier League division, it was a fierce fight to the finish line as Dales Sixes emerged victorious, securing a 3-1 win against Enter Team Name FC. They proved their grit and determination throughout the season, accumulating a total of 22 points and 11 wins.  It was a result that was necessary as fellow title contenders Cats on Bikes did exactly what was required of them, racking up a 13-0 win over Worcester 69ers who were debutants in the league.  Cats eventually losing out on the title by just two points.

Turning our attention to Division 1, a hard-fought 1-1 match between Claines FC and Nag Shuts FC stood out. However, the league trophy was clinched by Lucozade Sports, who outshined their opponents with a total of 21 points and 9 wins.

In Division 2, a dazzling performance by ARROWXL FC saw them trounce Murder on Zidane's Floor with a resounding 6-2 victory, placing them on the top of the league with an impressive 25 points and 12 wins from their fourteen games.

Finally, in Division 3, Gangsters Allardyce beat Monner United 4-1 in a thrilling encounter, culminating in their victorious season finish with 25 points and 12 wins. Unathlectico Madrid also deserves a special mention for their 4-2 victory over Meat Batch.

Thank you to all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league as ever, and capping off a fantastic season for all involved.  The new season kicks off on Wednesday 4th October and we are recruiting teams now as we have a couple of vacancies opening up!  Don't miss out on Worcester's biggest league!
