Leisure Leagues Worcester Sixways Wednesday 6-a-side league kicked off its brand new campaign with an exciting game week 1. All teams were in attendance, except Expecting Toulouse and Cats on Bikes, who gave notice of their absence and will join next week's matches. Let's dive into the match results!


In the Premier Division the league champions BRAP FC dropping out meant that the title was firmly up for grabs this time around!

LARGENTINA and COTTAGEMIXEDGRILL FC, two teams promoted from lower divisions, clashed in an impressive thriller. It was COTTAGEMIXEDGRILL FC who narrowly secured a 3-2 victory, showing their mettle in the top flight. Both teams put on a fantastic display, setting the stage for an exciting season.

CORAL FC aimed to improve on their third-place finish from last season and showed their intent on game week 1, serving up a 2-0 defeat to NEW INN FC in an accomplished performance, as they got off to the perfect start in a potential title charge.

WEDNESDAY SOCIAL and DALES SIXES engaged in a closely contested match. Both teams gave their all, but in the end, it was DALES SIXES who emerged victorious with a narrow 2-1 win. It was a hard-fought battle, showcasing the competitive nature of the league.

Moving on to Division One, NUNNERY WOOD VETERANS and GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS settled for a 1-1 draw. The Gamblers impressed with their performance, capitalizing on their double promotion opportunity from the previous season. They showed their mettle against an experienced opponent, earning a valuable point.

NAG SHUTS FC, a newly promoted team, faced a tough challenge against LUCOZADE SPORTS. LUCOZADE SPORTS demonstrated their superiority, securing a convincing 5-0 victory. It was a baptism of fire for NAG SHUTS FC, who will be eager to bounce back in the coming weeks.

OOO AAH SLAVIA made a strong statement in Division One with a 2-0 win over CLAINES FC. OOO AAH SLAVIA showcased an impressive performance, including a clean sheet, as they aim to make a swift return to the Premier Division. Their defensive solidity and clinical finishing proved to be the difference in this encounter.

In Division Two, MURDER ON ZIDANES FLOOR, who earned promotion last season, started their Division Two campaign in style with a superb 3-0 victory over GOTTA DIE FOR 3 PINTS. They displayed their quality on both ends of the pitch and made a statement of intent for the season ahead.

TUPSLEY FCC dominated their match against BENCH WARMERS FC, securing a comprehensive 4-0 win. TUPSLEY FCC showcased their control and authority throughout the game, leaving no doubt about their superiority on the day.

BLEY YOU OFF THE PARK lived up to their name, cutting through SPORTING BAD HAIRCUTS like a barber's clippers. They claimed an emphatic 6-0 victory, leaving SPORTING BAD HAIRCUTS with no chance to recover. BLEY YOU OFF THE PARK showcased their attacking prowess and left their opponents in dismay as they cut through the HAIRCUTS defence like a barbers clippers.

ARROWXL FC, a newly promoted team, started their campaign with an impressive 4-1 win over UP THE ALMA. The match showcased the quality of both teams, despite the two-division difference from last season. Arrow XL demonstrated their readiness for the challenge ahead, while UP THE ALMA will be eager to bounce back in the coming weeks.


In Division Three, RYBROOK FC welcomed ICE ICE BABIES to the league with a competitive encounter. RYBROOK FC showcased their experience and emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. ICE ICE BABIES displayed promise in their league debut, giving a good account of themselves.

MOISTCABBAGE faced SEVERN WASTERS, formerly known as Manchesthair Unknotted. SEVERN WASTERS capitalized on their rebranding, securing a 2-1 victory. It was a positive start for them, building on their previous season's form and leaving MOISTCABBAGE with a tough defeat.

SPORTING ABEERGUT and GANGSTERS ALLARDYCE engaged in a thrilling match in their league debut. It was SPORTING ABEERGUT who came out on top, securing a hard-fought 4-3 victory. GANGSTERS ALLARDYCE showcased their potential and fought till the end in an entertaining encounter.

Finally, WARNDON FC delivered a dominant performance against BANDITOS FC, securing an emphatic 8-0 victory. WARNDON FC left no room for doubt as they displayed their attacking prowess and set a high standard for their upcoming matches.
