In the inaugural week of the new Bury St Edmunds Monday 6-a-side football league season, players across all divisions demonstrated their skill and determination, with some impressive performances and stunning goals.
Premier League
In Premier League action, Unathletico Kennett suffered a narrow defeat to AFC Badgers, losing 3-2 in a hard-fought match. Real St Edmund struggled against a rampant Bulldogs OGs, who recorded an impressive 9-1 victory. Aiden Candler emerged as the standout performer for Bulldogs OGs, netting an impressive hat trick. Candler's stellar performance earned him the top scorer spot in the Premier League and also the title of the most valued player of the week.
Leavemearsealona FC also started the season on a high, defeating Klose But No Cigar 8-5 in a thrilling encounter.
Division 1
In Division 1, Queens Park Raisins and Backdoor Bandits played out a 2-2 draw, while James Mays Marching Powder fell 6-3 to Ball Of Duty. In the Ball Of Duty match, Harry Farrow shone, securing two goals and the division's top scorer title.
Inter Mivan, on the other hand, couldn't break through For The Badge's tough defense, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat.
Division 2
In Division 2, a draw ensued between Murder On Zidanes Floor and Batty Ballers FC, both teams scoring three goals. Harvey Skinner's two goals for Batty Ballers FC earned him the top scorer title for the division. Moreton Men Wanderers claimed a 6-4 victory over Deluded FC, while Moreton Men Rovers bested Fake Madrid with an 8-4 win.
