CHAMPIONS HELD IN MONDAY 6 A SIDE

Despite the freezing conditions at Skyliner last night our hardy group of teams and officials fronted up and produced some great performances to keep our brilliant season of 6 a side moving forward. It was week 5 of games and we had some intriguing match ups this week. Top flight champs and current leaders Ribena met their nearest rivals for the crown in 2nd placed Snorting Lisbon. It was tight as expected with little between the teams throughout and a 1 - 1 draw seems a fair result in the end. So the 1st point dropped by Ribena but no change at the top of the league. Innocent Till Proven Gylfi benefited and moved a point closer to the title race in 3rd with a 5 - 0 points win over SYM FC who struggled to get a side out this week. Titus Shambles did their chances of avoiding relegation no harm with an important 2 - 1 win over Jewventus who are now only ahead of them on goal difference.

The top 3 all won in Division One and we have quite a promotion battle on our hands here with Pogba sitting just a point behind AC in 2nd place. Pogba's 4 - 1 win over Candyshop keeps them in the hunt and the play AC next week so will be looking to leapfrog over them into the promotion places. Obviously AC will have other ideas and their 1 - 0 win against Unathletico could prove to be crucial as we head towards the Christmas break. Struijk My Koch picked up their 5th win from 5 games but it wasn't straightforward for the league leaders with bottom side Harry's Helmuts showing great character in going down by just a single goal.

Division Two still has tied leaders with both Mean Machine and Maradonna remaining unbeaten for the season so far. they have really broken away from the rest of  the group with a 6 point gap to Son of a Pitches in 3rd. Kebabs won 7 - 2 this week against Charlesberg while Pitches took a 5 - 0 points win because Tuddenham Tornados were away. Mean Machine helped their goals scoring advantage at the top with a big 7 - 1 win over bottom side Six Offenders.

Big thanks to all our teams that took part this week and of course to Brian and his team of refs for their brilliant work in difficult conditions. We have one round of games remaining before we break for Christmas. We will then return to action on Monday 9th January. Good luck to everyone for next weeks matches.
