In the fifth week of the Bury St Edmunds Tuesday 6-A-Side Football League, the fields were filled with fierce competition as teams vied for the top spots.
Premier League
In the Premier League division, Virgin Clubs faced a tough defeat against Cougar Choppers with a final score of 1-4. Molewall outwitted Quaresma Balls in a high scoring match of 7-5, while Molester City overpowered The Cleaners with a scoreline of 3-1. However, the highlight of the Premier League was the match between Jewventus and Dickins Cider FC. Jewventus were left in the dust as Dickins Cider FC dominated with ten impressive goals to two, largely thanks to the outstanding performance of top scorer Charlie Wright, who netted four goals in this match alone.
Division 1
Switching to Division 1, Mums Hot Sociedad were defeated by Roughamready with a 0-4 scoreline. FC Young Boys triumphed over Two Girls One Klopp with a 2-0 win, while Expected Toulouse fell to Dunk N Donuts in a match ending 5-10. James Scott of Dunk N Donuts emerged as the top scorer of Division 1, putting three goals behind the net.
Division 2
In Division 2, Moreton Men City claimed victory over Barely Athletico with eight goals to four. Hungry Hippos overwhelmed Moreton Men United with a scoreline of 8-3. Heath Team outplayed Silva Surfers 5-2, while Goal Diggers narrowly lost to Chicken Tikka Mo Salah 4-5. Top scorer accolades went to Jacob Malpass from Hungry Hippos, who netted four goals.
Undoubtedly, the star of the week was Matt Cattee from Moreton Men City, who earned the title of Most Valued Player. His contribution to his team's victory was instrumental and well-acknowledged. As the league progresses, we look forward to more scintillating performances from these teams and players.
