WE LOVE A BAG - CHAMPIONS OF BURY ST EDMUNDS

Our season finale took place on Tuesday in our Bury St Edmunds 6 a side league at Skyliner Sports Centre and after a 9 - 0 win in the final round of games, WE LOVE A BAG FC are crowned as champions of the premier league. It's been a brilliant season for the team, finishing on 24 points, 2 ahead of Rafa Cakes in 2nd. Jake and Matty both bagged hattricks to end the season strongly for the champions and ensure that, despite doing all they could with a 5 - 2 win on the last night, Rafa Cakes have to settle for the runners up spot. Jay scored 3 for them to also finish runner up in the golden boot, a prize that goes to Max Harrison of Athletic Bilbarrow with 17 goals. Bury Utd Sixes started well with a 2 - 1 win over No Name while OP Barbers secured 3rd spot with a strong 9 - 4 win over Neeks. Dan Cole on fire with 5 while Oli Norman added 3. Neeks will join Bury United in Division One but Josh Turner signed off from the prem with 4 goals, i'm sure both sides will be looking to bounce straight back up next season.

Taking their place in the top flight and going up as champions are MH Rovers who finished the season on 26 points, 3 clear of Tugas who join them in the prem for the new season. WSW miss out by just a point despite a 7 - 3 win on the final night while Gangsters Allardyce secured 4th spot with a solid 6 - 0 win over USAUK. Finn from MH Rovers has dominated the goal scoring charts this season and he picks up the golden boot by some margin on 38 goals, it will be interesting to see if that kind of goal scoring form can be repeated in the top flight next season.

So there we go, another season completed and we head straight into the next one on Tuesday. Fixtures will be out very soon but I just want to thank all our teams for a great season and also to our brilliant officials who make everything tick on match nights, these leagues just wouldn't operate without the refs so thanks as always for your efforts.

Congratulations to all our winners and good luck in the new season.
