Thursday 7th September - Worcester End of Season Round-Up

It was an excellent end to the season in the Worcester Thursday 6 a side league this week, with all teams attending for their matches as scheduled and some entertaining football played.

As confirmed with all teams, please note this league will be changing to 5-a-side for the upcoming campaign.  This has been agreed with all teams to both aid player availability, and also to make the game more spacious on the pitch for all teams as we appreciate the pitches at St John's are smaller than usual 6-a-side facilities.  We look forward to making this exciting change for the season ahead!

In the highly competitive Premier League division, three riveting encounters took place, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. The first match saw Purge FC go up against Tiny Todgers. It was Tiny Todgers who dominated the game, securing an impressive 5-0 victory. Their star striker, SAM, displayed his prowess and finished as the top scorer in the division, contributing five goals to his team's success throughout the season.

In another Premier League showdown, Warnock Wanderers faced off against Cunny Funts. Cunny Funts proved to be a force to be reckoned with, overpowering their opponents with an emphatic 8-1 win. Their attacking prowess, led by the formidable SAM, proved too much for Warnock Wanderers to handle.

The final match of the division featured WR2 GALACTICOS taking on BJH MOTORS. In a tightly contested battle, WR2 GALACTICOS emerged victorious with a narrow 3-2 scoreline. The team's relentless determination and teamwork throughout the season paid off, securing them the title of Premier League champions. With a total of 26 points and 13 wins to their name, WR2 GALACTICOS showcased their dominance in the division.

The Worcester Thursday Football League looks forward to another exciting season next year, as teams gear up to compete for glory once again. The league aims to provide a platform for local football enthusiasts to come together, celebrate the sport, and showcase their talent.
