A fantastic night of action in the Stourbridge Over 35s Monday League with some fantastic games played through the night. Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance as 'Inter MeNaan' were not present for their fixture and as per the term and conditions have now been removed from the league as they have now missed the first two games of the season. Although this does open up a space in the league it is paramount we have trusted and reliable teams each and every week in order to the league to run as smoothly as possible.
In more positive news, we kick off the Stourbridge Over 35's League breaking news with the Premier League as their were some excellent matches contested. This week it was a thriller between 'Enville Athletic Veterans' who beat 'Boca Seniors' 5-4 in a game where nobody could've decided the winner. The win was eventually down to an incredible team performance from 'Enville Athletic Veterans'. With only one team left unbeaten in this league so far to start the season it really shows how close it is going to be for the season ahead.
Game of the evening in Division One was the game between 'Del Bosque FC' and 'The Bat Fastards'. The winners 'Del Bosque FC' managed to snatch a 4-2 victory against their tough opponents. The game was a joy to behold as both teams attacking display was on point with some sharp shooting, however the all round excellent display from the winners ensured that 'Del Bosque FC' picked up all the points. Again only one team unbeaten in this division as well shows that we are in for a cracker of a season in the Stourbridge Over 35s Monday League.
The team of the week, for this tough evenings set of games is given to 'Surreal Madrid' as they comfortably beat their opponents 'Barely Athletic' as they bounced back from their previous weeks unfortunate loss. This victory was also commanded by the MVP Ben Monkton as he bagged a hattrick in the game. Is this the sign of what is to come for this team in the season ahead?
