A NIGHT OF UPS AND DOWNS IN THE BRIERLEY HILL MONDAY LEAGUE!

The 6-a-side Brierley Hill Monday League's returned continued at the Dell Stadium for a second week with a lot of great games played throughout.

It was very disappointing that three teams 'MullerRuis', 'Man Chest Hair United' and 'Pass It To The Left', were unable to fulfil their fixture and with no contact from two of the teams the league will be getting in contact to confirm there return next week. Thanks you to the one team that did so the league was able to make the appropriate changes so everyone got a game. Another team that weren't there this week were '6 Berks And A Turk' who gave to required 7 days notice to miss the fixture. It is paramount that all teams are present for each and every fixture and if not try their hardest to contact the area manager in a sufficient amount of time in order for the league to run smoothly and effectively each week. It is also worth noting the guest player rule we have in place at the league in order to help those that may be struggling at any point:

Guest players

2a) A team is allowed no more than two guest players per match and all guest players should be agreed before kick-off with the opposing captain and the referee.

2b) The referee reserves the right to refuse or accept guest players if, in his opinion, the outcome of the match would be considerably altered.

2c) Guest players can only be used to make up the basic squad of six. Teams may not use guest players as substitutes.

2d) If a team uses a guest player, that team is still liable to pay their full match fee.

2e) If a guest player is disciplined during the game then the team captain is responsible for any fine incurred.

This rule is in place to help those teams that may be struggling on any given week in order to field a team so the area manager can assist you in order to fill the team for one week only.

We did also have an incident at the end of the night where a players car was broken into on the car park. If anyone at the league saw anything in regards to this incident please get in contact with the area manager. It goes without saying that if any team was involved with this then that team would be removed from the league immediately as this kind of behaviour is not welcome at any leagues that we run.

In more positive news we think we speak for everyone when we say thank you to the Dell Stadium for hosting us these last two weeks and I think you would all agree that the surface and service we have had has been brilliant. Watch this space as a new league may start at the venue in the very near future.

We also welcomed back '50 Shades Of O'Shea' and 'Is It Half Time Yet?' from our Brierley Hill Tuesday League for another guest appearance. The league would like to thank them for taking part and hope they enjoyed there second week at the league before they return to the Tuesday League on Tuesday 8th September 2020.

The Premier Division had a mixed night but game of the night has to go to the game between 'West Midlands United F.C.' and 'Borussia Teeth'. Both had changes to there games late on but managed to have a great game that saw 'Borussia Teeth' come out on top. When they meet later in the season I'm sure 'West Midlands United F.C.' will be looking to get there revenge.

The Division 1 game of the night goes to the game between 'Gary Neville Is A Legend' and 'Real Madras'. A game played at a great tempo and could have seen either team come out on top. 'Real Madras' are really starting to settle in the league and were able to come out 2-1 winners in the end, can they continue this into the remainder of the season?

'Real Madras' are also our team of the week, with the league still in its infancy it will be interesting to see how this team can get on in the remainder of the season. Three points separates them between the top two places and they will definitely be looking up in the weeks to come if they can continue this fine form.

The league is now off for bank holiday Monday 31st August 2020 so we would like to wish everyone a great bank holiday weekend! The league will return back to Thorns Collegiate Academy on Monday 7th September 2020 and we look forward to seeing you all then. Please be aware that I will be in contact with all team captains next week in order to explain any centre specific COVID rules that they could have in place.

We have one space available to join the league at the moment! Sign up today and take part in the best league in your area!
