FOUR TO GO IN THE STOURBRIDGE MONDAY LEAGUE!
A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday League with all teams in attendance as expected.
It was also great to welcome new team 'Umps XI'. They started with a difficult test playing the Premier Division league leaders but played with a spirit that should see them settle in nicely. Good luck for the rest of the season with the new season on the horizon!
Game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game 'Borussia Teeth' and 'Neville'. A very entertaining game between two very good teams that saw 8 goals in total and the points shared in a 4-4 draw. An end to end game played in a good spirit that could have gone either way, as the season draws to an end both teams will look to cement there place in the Premier Division for next season.
Division One game of the week was the first game of the night between 'This Is Plough We Do It' and 'BBF United'. The newly moved Division One team put on a good showing in their first game in the division but experience showed as 'BBF United' ran out 3-1 winners. A win next week against 'Paris Ganja Man' will see the team confirm there position in DIvision One next season and relegate there opponents so that may be a game to watch next week.
The game of the night in Division Two was the game between 'Cott Land Colts' and 'BAyern Neverlosen'. Two teams that have come on leaps and bounds during the season and are really showing good quality going into the remaining games. 'Cott Lane Colts' were able to come out on top 2-1 in the end and with both teams 4 points clear of the relegation zone with two games left it looks very likely that they will be able to play again during the next season.
Division Three game of the week was the game between 'Oaks Ay We' and 'Schoolboy Error'. 'Oaks Ay We' were able to get there revenge on their opponents from earlier in the season as they were able to run out 3-2 winners. 'Oaks Ay We' are now three points clear of third with 4 games left, will they be promoted come the end of the season? Next up for them is 'Park Tavern FC'.
The race for promotion in Division is still as close as ever and team of the week 'Stella FC' are right in that race as they ran out 8-2 winners against 'Paris Ganja Man'. Three points splits the top four and as they all play each other this week it could look very different next week. 'Stella FC' take on league leagues 'Nitty Committee FC' and 'Big Stiff Idiots' play 'Gary Neville Is A Legend'.
