STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 14TH FEBRUARY 2022

All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A great evening of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday League.

Unfortunately there were a few teams unable to attend on the night. They have all been contacted to confirm there return next week. It is paramount that all teams are there each and every week and if this is not possible contact the Area Manager as soon as they possibly can in order to let the league run as smoothly as possible each and every week.

The Premier division was compiled of a number of tough games between the teams, however the game of the evening that particularly stood out was 'Inter Mi Bathams'' 3-2 vicotry against 'Redz On Stedz'. The game could only be seperated by one goal as both teams pushed each other right to the end. It was Jake Field at the double to secure an important victory  as we enter the business end of the season. The result also meant that 'Inter Mi Bathams leapfrogged 'Redz On Stedz' into second place by the end of the evening. Aviod defeat next week and 'Inter Mi'Bathams' will secure the runners up spot. Congratulations to 'Chip Butty FC' in this division who have been crowned champions following this weeks results!

In Division One there was also no shortage of entertainment with some nail-biting affairs between rival teams. The game of the evening in this division resulted in a 1-0 victory for 'Bayern Neverlosen' as they edged out a particularly close game against 'Schoolboy Error' who are both at the top end of the table. This result also means that the title race opens back up again thanks to a well taken Tom Burdock goal which was the only thing that could separate the sides during the game. We now wait in anticipation for the final league game of the season as 5 teams are separated by 3 points and two spaces in the Premier Division are still up for grabs.

Division Two showed us the quality of the teams that all want to gain promotion. It was a 8-6 victory for 'Waggon Wanderers' which was the highlight of the evening with an open, end to end game of attacking football as each team traded blow after blow. A great overall team performance from 'Waggon Wanderers' led to them just coming away with the win, the team managed to provide a stable platform for Daniel Wilkes to score 5 goals and Olly Kelly to grab a hattrick. This determination will hopefully be continued into next week where they will aim to finish the season in style. Congratulations to 'Dynamo B.C' who were promoted to Division One and crowned champions in the process with there victory on the night! The race for the second promotion spot will go down to the final game of the season next week.

Team of the evening is 'Football Club FC' as they picked up a 3-0 victory over 'Roebuck FC' which puts them in pole position for promotion going into the final games of the season. We wish them and all the teams in Division One the best of luck going into the last week.
