STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 20TH DECEMBER 2021

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday League.

Unfortunately we did have one team unable to fulfil their fixture as 'Redz On Stedz' were not able to get a team together due to a COVID outbreak in the team. The league hope all effected are well and safe and we look forward to seeing the team back after the Christmas break.

Premier Division game of the night goes to the game between 'Bridgnorth Town FC' and 'Big Stiff Idiots'. Two very similar and strong sides going head to head but it was 'Big Stiff Idiots' who came out 4-3 winners and continue there five match unbeaten streak. With this win they remain two points off top in third and will be looking to the top two places again as they go into the second half of the season.

Division One game of the night was between the top two sides 'Park Tavern FC' and 'Schoolboy Error'. It was a great game of 6-aside football with two teams fighting hard for the win, both teams wanted the win but the league leaders put in a strong second half display to come away with a 5-3 win and move 4 points clear of there opponents. With only half the season played so far there is still a lot of football to play but with the points on the board 'Park Tavern FC' are looking to be a Premier Division team next season.

The game of the night in Division Two was the game between 'SteelYES! FC' and 'West Midlands United F.C'. Two similarly able teams that served up a cracker, six goals and end to end action that ended in a fair 3-3 draw and both teams went home with a point. As we go into the second half of the season four teams are five points clear of the rest and looking to get promoted come the end of the season.

'This Is Plough We Do It' are our team of the week. With a 5-1 win over 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' they sit top of Division Two going into the Christmas break. Can anybody stop them? Or are they going to be a Division Two champions come the end of the season?

The league is now off for the Christmas and New Year break meaning the league will resume again on Monday 10th January 2022 as the centre is closed. We would like to wish everyone involved with the league a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
