The Stourbridge 6-a-side league had lots to offer this week with multiple sides gaining big wins, as teams begin to improve their performances on the run into Christmas.
In the Premier League the highlight of the evening was the closely contested game between ‘Call the Cops FC’ and ‘The Princess’ where the two sides traded blow after blow as the game resulted in a 7-4 victory for ‘The Princess’ as the teams attacked each other in an end to end game. Free scoring ‘The Princess’ have shown this as a typical style of play with them now having the most goals scored in the league with a total of 30. They also currently sit 1st with an exciting game against ‘Redz On Stedz’ lined up next week.
In Division 1 the best game displayed came between ‘Football club FC’ and BBF United’ in a game where 3rdplace ‘Football Club FC’ beat 6th place ‘BBF United’ 2-0 where both sides tried to play to their strengths as both teams know each other’s capabilities very well and was displayed with a highly entertaining game of football. The 3rd placed side now have the challenge of facing 1st placed ‘Schoolboy Error' next week in a game that could be all important towards the end of the current season with promotion all still to play for.
The highlight of Division 2 was the thrilling game between ‘Dynamo Greyhound PFC’ and ‘Pique Blinders’ where ‘Dynamo Greyhound PFC’ came out close winners in a game which finished 3-2, an extremely important victory for them as they look to climb up the league standings by beating ‘Pique Blinders’ who currently sit a place ahead of them on goal difference in the league. They now look to take on the team below them ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ in another important game.
The TEAM OF THE EVENING was ‘SCHOOLBOY ERROR’ as they continue their perfect streak in the league as they are still yet to lose a game and have only conceded 3 goals. This shows they are in serious contention to be promoted into the Premier League where all teams aim to be.
