STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 7TH FEBRUARY 2022

All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club. 

An excellent evening of football with thrilling games were played out and all teams in attendance as expected.

Game of the night in the Premier Division was the game between league leaders 'Chip Butty FC' and bottom team 'Call The Cops FC'. A great game was played showing how close top to bottom are but it was league leaders 'Chip Butty FC' who went one win from the title with a 2-0 win. Can they get across the line in the weeks to come and take there first Stourbridge Monday League title?

Four great games in Division One but the game of the evening was played between 'Football Club FC' and 'Bayern Neverlosen' with 'Football Club FC' eventually getting the victory over their league rivals in a 3-2 win which was displayed with two goals from MVP Dan Payne and a goal from Tom Skidmore to secure their important victory. The win would be made even sweeter knowing it came against another great side in 'Bayern Neverlosen' who did not go down without a fight pushing the game right into the final stages where they were unlucky to miss out on points. The game was also very important in terms of league standings as 'Football Club FC' pushed one point ahead of their opponents in the standings with them now sitting in a promotion place with only two weeks to go.

Division Two game of the evening was the very tight affair between 'Pique Blinders' and 'Waggon Wanderers'. 'Pique Blinders' were able to sneak the victory 1-0 in the end and has both teams looking towards next season and hoping they can push for a top two place. Talking of the top two we congratulate 'Dynamo B.C.' who were officially promoted to Division One with two games to spare, they will also secure the title if they can overcome the team in second place 'This Is Plough We Do It' next week.

The team of the evening were 'Redz On Stedz' as they powered past 'Crep City FC' who were in good form after recently beating some tough opposition. This victory for 'Redz On Stedz' was very important as they improve in their league standing up to 3rd place. The 7-2 win also means they now sit on positive goal difference which may be crucial towards the end of the season.
