Stourbridge Monday 6 a side news 2025-09-15

Play in the Stourbridge Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

In the exciting world of grassroots football, the Stourbridge Monday league entered its 6th week, with thrilling matches across all divisions.

Unfortunately, we did have a number of non-attendances on the night, these teams were not present for their games and we will be in contact with both of them this week in order to confirm their return for next Monday. It is paramount all teams are present for their fixtures in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each week, if there are any problems please be sure to contact your area manager in plenty of time.

There was also an incident on the night in the game between Euro Anchor FC and Yatesys VI where a player from Euro Anchor FC got  sent from the field of play for being dismissive towards the match officials instructions .The player in question has been fined and banned from the league for 2 weeks for there actions. These incidents will be dealt with swiftly by the area manager every time they happen at our leagues to ensure that the league is running as safely as possible.

The league are also disappointed to find out that we have been let down by someone at the league that decided to bring their own bottles of alcohol on site but they have had the cheek to take them up to the bar at the club and drink them in there.

I will state that bringing alcohol of your own on site is not allowed by any means as if you do it risks the club losing there license to sell alcohol and open the bar for us. We are the only people to use the bar on a Monday night so it is someone/some people playing in our league.

Any team that is found to be doing this at any point WILL be removed from the league with immediate effect. The relationship we have with the club is the most important we have, no good relationship, means no league to play in. Anybody found jeopardising this does not deserve the right to play in the league.

Can we also remind people of the guest player rule stated on the website below, there was a case of this being breached this past week so though it should be shared:

Guest players

2a) A team is allowed no more than two guest players per match and all guest players should be agreed before kick-off with the opposing captain and the referee. If no protest is made prior to the match, the match shall continue to be played as normal.

2b) The referee reserves the right to refuse or accept guest players if, in his opinion, the outcome of the match would be considerably altered.

2c) Guest players can only be used to make up the basic squad of six. Teams may not use guest players as substitutes.

2d) If a team uses a guest player, that team is still liable to pay their full match fee.

2e) If a guest player is disciplined during the game then the team captain is responsible for any fine incurred.
