Play in the Stourbridge Sunday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
Stourbridge Sunday, the 6 a side Football League, held its 13th week matches last night, producing some exciting scores and standout performances in the Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2.
Unfortunately, there was an incident on the night during the game between Graces All Stars and Real Ale Madrid, where a player from Graces All Stars was sent from the field of play for abuse towards a match official and has been fined and banned accordingly for his actions. These incidents will be dealt with swiftly every time they happen by our Area Manager to make sure the league is a safe place to be for all the teams and staff.
We did also have a couple of non-attendances on the night, These teams were not present for their games and we will be in contact with both of them this week in order to confirm their returns for two weeks time. It is paramount all teams are present for their fixtures in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each week, if there are any problems please be sure to contact your area manager in plenty of time.
We also had a number of teams hand in their 7 days notice to cancel for this week, we look forward to welcoming back Bayer Neverlusen and Top Bins FC for the games on 17/5!
In the Premier League, Withy Regens displayed an impressive performance, securing an 8-5 victory over X FC. However, the match between Real Ale Madrid and Graces All Stars was a nail-biter, with Madrid clinching a 1-0 win.
Moving onto Division 1, a thrilling encounter between Exeter Gently and BellyTubbies FC saw Gently emerge victoriously with a 4-3 win. Other matches in the division also kept the spectators on the edge of their seats, with Young Boys defeating Snort Vale by 2-1 and Stourbridge Olympic trouncing Real Sosobad by 6-2
In Division 2, Pain In Diaz edged out 60k in a closely contested match by scoring 2-1. Sheffield Sunday, on the other hand, stormed past Pique Blinders with an impressive victory.
As we head into Week 14, the anticipation is palpable, with teams fighting to climb the ladder and players vying for the top scorer spots. It's safe to say that Stourbridge Sunday Football League has kept the spirit of football alive and kicking in these challenging times. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!
