A NIGHT OF BIG WINS

We welcomed back the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side league teams at Stourbridge Rugby Club with a night packed full of entertainment and goal-scoring. We had some action-packed games which was a joy to watch.

Premier division-

The premier division kicked off with a well-disciplined win for ‘Stourbridge CC’ over ‘Rangers’ this victory finished 2-0 with the team to thank Jake Brigdale and MVP Luke Alexander for the goals. However, it was overall a great team performance. We also look forward to seeing if ‘Rangers’ can bounce back and get their first win of the season. The second game came between ‘Haven’t Got A Kalou’ and ‘Who Ate All Depays’ where ‘Haven’t Got A Kalou’ came out 5-0 winners in a good performance including a MVP performance from Jake Stubbs. The next game came with another strong performance from ’50 Shades Of O’Shea’ in the form of a 3-0 dominating win over ‘Real Madras’ with an MVP performance from Mark Bellingham. This is not to say that ‘Real Madras’ did not go down without a fight and we are excited to see their game next week against an in form ‘Stourbridge CC’.  The final game was played between ‘Is It Half Time Yet’ and ‘Gangsters Allardyce’. Where ‘Is It Half Time Yet?’ who came out on top with a 3-1 victory with James Thompson getting the MVP.

First Division-

The first division also had a great set of fixtures which showed off the talent in both leagues. The first game was played between ‘BH Darlings’ and ‘Who Ate All Depays’ which saw a strong performance proved ‘BH Darlings’ to be too strong for ‘Who Ate All Depays’ on the evening with vital goals from Dan Nicholas and Farren Brown to shoot them to the top of the league. The second game came with an important 3-1 win for ‘See You Next Tuesday’ to push them level on points with ‘BH Darlings’ however it was also a good performance from ‘Pogues FC’ who continue to settle into the league. Next up it was a big win for ‘Troey’s Rentboys’ against ‘Winlot Rangers’ in a 1-6 win where a player from 'Troey's Rentboys' scored a hattrick to win the game for his team. The final game of the league night came in a feisty fashion where ‘Stourbridge Olympic’ push for victory saw them score two winning goals late on to get the 4-2 win over a well drilled ‘FC Celta’ side.

Team of the night- ‘Stourbridge Olympic’ their last gasp victory showed how much they have improved and the determination within the team.

Game of the evening- This came between ‘BH Darlings’ and ‘Who Ate All Depays’ even though ‘BH Darlings’ came out winners it was a well fought game from both sides.
