FOUR GAMES DOWN IN STOURBRIDGE!

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League.

Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance as 'Pogues FC' failed to show for their fixture. The league have been in contact with the team and they have confirmed there return next week. It is paramount that all teams try there hardest to get a team out each and every week and if this is not possible that they notify the area manager in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible.

We did also have an incident that happened at the end of the last game of the night on the Premier Division pitch. In the game between 'Rangers' and 'Is It Half Time Yet?', an incident broke out following a heated exchange between an individual from either side meant both were sent from the field of play. They then decided to take there exchange to the car park where punches were thrown from both individuals which is completely unacceptable at any league that Leisure Leagues runs. Both Jake Anslow of 'Rangers' and the player from 'Is It Half Time Yet? have both now been permanently banned from all Leisure Leagues competition. The behaviour of the spectator's that 'Rangers' bought with them for the game was also unacceptable and as this is the second time the team have had an incident at the league 'Rangers' have now been removed from the league with immediate effect and fined £100 for there actions on the night. The player from 'Is It Half Time Yet?' has been fined £50 and as he has acted alone in this situation the team will remain as this is the first time an incident has occurred involving them. It is important that all teams remain within the rules of the league and it is important to remember that any disciplinary issues will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly. Although this does open up a space in the league it is paramount that teams understand that this is a leisure league and that if any situation like this is to happen again in future that the same punishment will be given every time. As we do have a team on the waiting list, this team will be contacted in the coming days in order to take the space that has been vacated.

As a side note I would like to make all teams aware that moving forward any team that brings spectators to the venue must remain off the pitch and stand behind the barriers at all times during the game that is being played. It is also worth mentioning that all substitutes must also remain behind there goal at all times in order to keep games fair for all week in and week out. Thank in advance for you cooperation with this!

On more positive news, game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game between 'Stourbridge CC' and 'Haven't Got A Kalou'. An 11-goal thriller played to a high standard between two teams that have played each other a few times now but it was 'Stourbridge CC' who kept there impressive start to the season going with a 7-4 win. 2nd only on goal difference they will look to continue there impressive start against 'Gylfi Pleasures'.

The game of the night in Division One was between 'FC Celta' and 'Winlot Rangers'. Nothing to split these two similarly able teams in a 1-1 draw but a great game played in a great spirit throughout. Both have the ability to push for promotion this season however will both feel they could have had more points at this point in the season, who will come out on top next time they meet?

Team of the week has to be 'BH Darlings' as they ran out 5-0 winners over 'Stourbridge Olympic'. This continues their impressive start to the season and means they are top and three points clear going into the fifth round of games? Next up 'Winlot Rangers'.

Following the incident this week we now have ONE SPACE avaliable to join the league! If you are interested sign up today and take part in the best leagues in your area!
