GREAT GAMES DESPITE THE RAIN

The Stourbridge Tuesday League returned this week in rainy fashion, which did not deter any of our competitive teams from their games.

Premier Division-

The first clash in the Premier Division came between two good teams ‘Stourbridge CC’ against ‘Real Madras’ this game was narrowly won by ‘Stourbridge CC’ 2-1. In a game in which both teams could’ve won, these games show the competitiveness in the league. 'Stourbridge CC' continue their good run of form to push them into second place in the league. The Premier Division brought another good game on the evening with ‘Rangers’ beating ‘Gangsters Allardyce’ 3-0 convincingly with Jake Anslow scoring 2 goals. The third game of the night was also very entertaining with ‘Is It Half Time Yet’ beating new team ‘Gylfi Pleasures’ 7-1 with James Thompson scoring a thrilling hattrick and an excellent performance from Jordan Hooch who got the MVP performance. The final performance in the Premier Division was also a thriller with another dominant 7-1 win for ’50 Shades Of O’Shea’ over ‘Haven’t got a Kalou’ and an exciting performance from Ashley Lovell who scored 4 goals to ensure they stayed at the top of the league.

Division One-

Division One kicked off with a deadlock 0-0 draw between ‘Who Ate All Depays’ against ‘Winlot Rangers’ where neither team could break the deadlock. The second game came was a very exciting game  where when the game concluded it saw a 7-6 win for ‘BH Darlings’ over ‘FC Celta’ which left them to the top of the league after this weeks games. The third game however was slightly more convincing with a 4-0 win for ‘Stourbridge Olympic' over ‘Pogues FC’ who are starting to build a competitive team in order to push for promotion this season. It was Callum Shilcock who secured two goals to push the team forward again. To conclude the evening there was a draw between ‘Troey’s Rentboys’ and ‘See You Next Tuesday’ with the final score being 2-2 however ‘See You Next Tuesday’ remain second in a very tight looking league.

Team of the evening- ‘Is It Half Time Yet‘ with their fine performance and scoring 7 goals which the opposition couldn’t do anything about.

Game of the evening- This was played between ‘FC Celta’ and ‘BH Darlings’ who produced a 13-goal thriller which was played right to the end and could have gone either way but 'BH Darlings' came out on top.
