NEW TEAMS IN THE STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY LEAGUE

The 6-a-side Stourbridge RFC Tuesday League kicked off the season with a bang this week with a great set of fixtures played through the night to start the season.

We had an almost full set of fixtures throughout the night, unfortunately we lost out on two teams (‘Athletic Dildao’ and ‘Pogues FC’) through COVID related reasons, we will be contacting team captains in the coming days to ensure their safe return next week.

It was also great to welcome a new teams 'FC Celta' and ‘Real Madras’. So a warm welcome to both of these teams we look forward to see how they fair throughout the new season.

The Premier Division began with a well contested stalemate draw between ‘Haven’t Got A Kalou’ and ‘Is It Half Time Yet’ , ‘Haven’t Got A Kalou’s goal came through a top bins strike from Chris Green. To equalise and earn the point in their opening game of the season. The second game was ‘Real Madras’ vs ‘Stourbridge Olympic’ which was a game in which ‘Real Madras’ proved why they have returned to the league. This included an MVP performance from Jack Doody who also grabbed a goal. The third game was played between ’50 Shades of O’Shea’ vs ‘Rangers’ which was fought tooth and nail by both teams however it was ’50 Shades of O’Shea’ who outplayed a strong ‘Rangers’ side 6-3. The final game of the evening in this division came between ‘Stourbridge CC ‘and ‘Gangstars Allardyce’ in one of the closest games of the evening with only 1 goal to split the two teams resulting in a full time score of 2-1 to ‘Stourbridge CC’  with goals from Wesley Griffin and Ash Evans proving too much for there opponents.

The evening in Division 1 kicked off in a lively fashion with ‘See you Next Tuesday’ coming out 3-1 winners over 'Stourbridge Olympic' and sealing a win in a classy way. The second game in Division 1 was where ‘Winlot Rangers’ began their campaign with full points over ‘Haven’t Got a Kalou’ hopefully we can see how they perform under pressure next week. The third game of the evening was played in tight contest between ‘Troey’s Rentboys’ against ‘BH Darlings’ where only 1 goal was scored by Elliot Jordan(MVP) of BH Darlings to break the deadlock between the two sides. The final game in Division 1 was between ‘Who Ate All Depay’s’ against new comers (with some old faces) ‘FC Celta’ this game ended in thrilling fashion and neither side could separate from each other ending 4-4 with multiple players scoring braces.

Game of the evening- The game of the evening was played between ’50 Shades of O’Shea and ‘Rangers’ which was a goal scoring thriller with neither side wanting to back down from the potential points on offer which was a site to behold.

Team of the evening-  The team of the evening was 'See You Next Tuesday' following there 3-1 win over 'Stourbridge Olympic' is this the signs of what to come this season? Only time will tell!
