An excellent night of 6-a-side football int he Stourbridge Tuesday League with all teams in attendance as expected. It was also great to welcome new team 'I Only Put Matip In' to the league. Up against the Premier Division league leaders in there first game is not the easiest and will be looking to improve as they settle in to the league. We wish them all the best moving forward!
The game of the week in the Premier Division was a tough call as all games were a joy to watch however the best battle was between 'Troeys Rentboys' and 'Who Ate All Depays' , the final score ended 2-0 to the experienced 'Troeys Rentboys'. Who Ate All Depays' had some great attacking attempts however, were overpowered by 'Troeys Rentboys' defence and eventually their attack as they fell to a 2-0 defeat. From 'Troeys Rentboys' perspective it was a solid performance with not many negatives to take from the game,next up 'Is It Half Time Yet?'.
The game of the week in Division 1 saw a thriller of a game as 'Innocent till Proven Gylfi' took a 5-4 win against 'The Six Offenders' as both teams hit goals back and forth throughout the game. It was also an extremely impressive performance from Luca from 'Innocent Till Proven Gylfi' as he scored 4 goals in this thrilling game. It could also prove to be an important result later on in the season as both teams are near each other after game 6 of the season. 'Innocent Until Proven Gylfi' have 'OTR FC' next week and will be looking to build on this result.
The team of the week is awarded to '50 Shades Of O'Shea' as they pulled off an impressive 4-1 win over 'BH Darlings' and keep the pressure on league leaders 'Rare FC'. Next week the top two face off in what could be an important game in the race to be champions this season, who will come out on top?
