STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 18TH APRIL

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League.

Unfortunately, as some of you may have been aware there was an injury in the first game of the night between ‘Hold That FC’ and ‘Any Chance’ where an ambulance was required. As two players went in for a 50-50 challenge, Tom Davies of ‘Hold That FC’ was left needing medical attention. It is with great sadness to let you know that he has sustained a broken leg and has been operated on the day after in order to fix the break he had sustained. We are in contact with the captain to get updates on his progress but we would like to wish Tom a speedy recovery and hope we see him on the pitch again in future! Any questions on this incident please feel free to contact your Area Manager.

The game of the night in the Premier League this week goes to the game between 'Hold That FC' and 'Any Chance' as it was a brilliant 2-1 win for ‘Hold That FC’. Out of respect to Tom that is all that needs to be said on the game as his health is the most important thing to think about at this time. With his team sitting top of the table they will be hoping to make him proud in the weeks to come.

In Division 1 the game of the evening was between 'Gary Neville Is A Legend ' and 'Baggies Babes'. A top-quality game that saw both teams fight tooth and nail for the win, but it was 'Gary Neville Is A Legend' that came away with the win. With this result, they move away from 'Baggies Babes' in the relegation zone and will be looking to keep this good form going into the second half of the season.

Division 2 game of the night saw 'Any Holes A Goal' take on 'Athletico Dildao'. Two evenly matched teams looking to climb the table ready for the second half of the season and how evenly matched they are was shown in the 1-1 result. Sitting 5th and 6th after this result both teams will be looking to get a run of results together in the next few weeks in order to climb the table in the weeks to come.

Division 3 game of the evening was a similiar game to Division 2’s. As midtable 'FC Resonance' and Innocent till Proven Gylfi' took each other on with an important game which could potentially decide how they step into the second half of the season. However, the result was limited to a 1-1 draw due to their matched abilities and they will be looking to close the gap to the top two during the second half of the season.

'Hold That FC' are our team of the week this week with their result against ‘Any Chance’. Yet to lose this season, their quality is showing through at the halfway stage but will look to continue this fine form in the second half of the season to maintain their first-place position for the continuation.
