STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 26TH JULY 2022
All the latest news for the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side League is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.
A fantastic night of very entertaining games of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League.
Unfortunately we did have a non-attendance at the league as 'Stourbridge CC' were unable to fulfil there fixture. This does mean that the team have now been removed following a second non-attendance in a row. It is paramount all teams are present each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible, if you are having any problems please be sure to contact your area manager.
First of all, we kick off with the game of the week in the Premier League as 'Oaks Ay We' got an important victory against 'Twinkle Toes' in 5-4 fashion as they continue their bid to escape the relegation zone. They were pushed right to the limits against 'Twinkle Toes' and also provided excellent performances from all players fully committing till the final whistle. The performance by 'Oaks Ay We' was orchestrated by the whole team however it was Brad Morgan who scored a brace.
In Division One we also had some excellent games, which led to our game of the evening. This was a nailbiting 2-1 victory for 'The Six Offenders' as they edged a victory against 'Innocent Till Proven Gylfi' this game was a joy to watch as the teams went back and forth trying to get the final edge which 'The Six Offenders' eventually did. With the top two facing each other next week and three weeks to go in the season 'The Six Offenders' will be watching on closely in order to see if they will be in a promotion place after next weeks games.
The final game of the evening in Division Two was played between 'Hold That FC' and 'Murder On Zidane's Floor' which 'Hold That FC' eventually got the better of their opponents in a 4-0 victory with some excellent attacking football to ensure they secured the victory. 'Murder On Zidane's Floor' also played some great football however unfortunately didn't have their shooting boots on to net past the opposition.
The team of the evening this week was a great win for 'Quatford Windows' as they blew away 'I Only Put Matip In' with a standout performance from Owen as he bagged himself an extremely impressive 6 goals. As they look to the start of the new season they are really settling in well now and will be looking to build on performances like this.
