STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 28TH MARCH

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of very entertaining games of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League with all teams in attendance as expected.

Unfortunately we did have a disciplinary issue on the night in the game between 'Any Chance' and 'Haven’t Got a Kalou'. A 'Haven’t Got a Kalou' was sent from the field of play for violent conduct towards an opposition player, because this is not the first offence with the player in question it will now be a £50 fine and permanent ban for the individual in question. As they are also the team captain of the team as well it does mean that the team will be removed from the league as well, we know this opens a space up but it is important these situations are punished when they arise. It is important that all teams remain within the rules of the league and it is important to remember that any disciplinary issues will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly.

In more positive news it was great to welcome new teams ‘Baggies Babes’ and ‘Athletic Dildao’, both did put in some good performances and will be looking to build on this in the weeks to come. We wish both teams the best of luck moving forward.

The game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game between fast growing rivals 'Hold That FC' and 'Gangsters Allardyce'. A fantastically tense game that saw each team pushed to the limit. Although 'Hold That FC' came away with the 3-2 win in the end, they are in for some stiff competition this season and we look forward to seeing how it all pans out.

Game of the night in Division 1 was the game between 'Lenton Orient B' and 'Gary Neville is a Legend'. A top-quality game that showed the quality on offer in Division One and saw a wonderful fighting performance by 'Lenton Orient B' to earn the 3-0 win. With how tight this division looks it will be interesting to see how the season looks come the end of the season.

The Division 2 game of the night was between 'Andy Pandy FC' and 'Ballotellie-Tubbies'. A closely contested game that could barely be seperated as 8-goals were scored and the points going to 'Andy Pandy FC' in a 5-3 victory. Who will come out on top when the two teams meet again later in the season?

Division 3 game of the week was the game between ‘HAS Bins’ and ‘Innocent Till Proven Gylfi’. Two evenly matched teams that ran each other close throughout and worked hard for the win but it was ‘HAS Bins’ who came away with the 2-1 win in the end. Another interesting one to see if ‘Innocent Till Proven Gylfi’ can get there revenge later in the season.

Top of the Premier League after week two are our team of the week 'Lenton Orient'. A convincing win over last seasons champions shows there intent for the season ahead. They go into a game against 'Any Chance' next week full of confidence, who will come out on top?
